Description

Paragate’s Implantable Fluid Removal Device, is an active implant that acts as a mechanical bypass of the kidneys. The device is implanted in minimally invasive fashion and continuously (24/7) and gently absorbs systemic isotonic extracellular fluid and drains it to the urinary system. The system provides a home-based solution for continual prevention of fluid overload, to minimize need for repeated acute hospital admissions and enabling patient tailored and configurable therapy.

The objectives

The objectives of the project are to advance development of the system, perform needed verification and validation and conduct clinical testing. The Horizon Europe EIC program and our highly rated European partners within support us in further deliver the system to its ultimate goal, to bring better care for millions of patients across Europe and worldwide.
